Chess sets have been a recurrent theme throughout a
number of years; my first was made of paper and was based (loosely) on the golden section. Earlier ceramic sets have
been based on birds, masks and medieval knights. It remains a rich seam of inspiration, and will doubtless be visited
again before too long.
